We are delighted to offer this iconic 911 Rennsport RSR Build No.93
This Outstanding vehicle was built for Mr Paul Cockell the owner of Rennsport as his own personal car and to use as a demonstrator to show potential clients what the company could produce and build to any individuals requirement.
This vehicle was also displayed at the 2019 Goodwood Revival receiving amazing reviews.
The original donor car was a UK supplied 1987 model year 3.2 Carrera Coupe.
Rennsport stripped the car down to a complete bare body shell and set onto a chassis Jig for its new lease of life.
Taken back to the bare metal it was rebuilt using all steel panels. Front wings, rear arches, bonnet, front and rear panels, sills, B-posts and kidney bowls were all replaced to transform it to the full RSR bodywork of the 1973 2.8 RSR.
Composite front and rear bumpers were fitted in keeping with the original along with the centre bonnet fuel filler. The carbon composite ducktail is made slightly differently to the original to help with engine cooling and aerodynamics.
The engine is built from the original bare crankcases. Fully blueprinted, it now runs forged 3.4 litre high compression (11.5-1) pistons in nikasil liners. It also runs RS competition camshafts.
The fuelling is changed to Rennsport in-house developed AT power throttle injection system with fully programmable ECU. The car is set up running around 300hp for fast road use.
The transmission is the later G50 5 speed gearbox with hydraulic clutch. This also runs a Quaiffe Limited slip differential.
Currently running on Clubsport Bilstein suspension polybushed all round and Clubsport brakes with EBC yellow competition pads. It is set up to be enjoyed for fast road and track use.
Fitted with 9x16” front and 10x16” rear RSR lightweight Braid competition wheels.
The interior is beautifully finished in fine black Muirhead leather on original period Scheel seats. Complemented with the latest electric air conditioning system.
When the car was rebuilt every wearable part was either totally replaced with new parts, or totally refurbished. The odometer clocks were zero at the time of the Rennsport build so the current mileage showing of 2,795 is all the car has covered from its reincarnation.
