We are delighted to offer for sale this outstanding and matching numbers 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190SL supplied new to Daimler-Benz Inc, Fifth Avenue, New York and finished in its original factory specification of Blue Gray paintwork over special order red leather upholstery with red carpets.

It was fully restored by renowned marque specialists SL Classics in Duren, Germany in 2011/2012 and was then sold to Crevier Classic Cars, part of Crevier BMW in Orange County, California before being sold to its next custodian in Napa Valley.

Whilst in his ownership for approximately 5 years he sent the car to CANEPA in Scotts Valley for servicing and various works to be carried out to keep the car in perfect condition or “on the button” as we like to call it. In 2018/2019 alone, invoices totalling $34,000 are present. All the items replaced on the car and work carried out are documented with supporting invoices and photos in a leatherbound folder.

Not long after this, the owner decided to extend his classic Porsche collection, so instructed Bruce Canepa to sell the car for him on commission, which is when our client bought the car and shipped it back to the UK and registered the car in August 2021

Copies of the original order, data card and factory specification from Mercedes-Benz also accompany the car in its history file.

This car was ordered new with the following specification - bumper overriders, windscreen washer system, rear view mirror, Becker radio and white wall tyres. The car also includes a full luggage set, rare matching factory hard top, full tool kit, owner's manuals, original jack and spare wheel. It was also one of the rarer, earlier 190 SL with the plexiglass sunvisors fitted from new.
