We are once again delighted to offer for sale Chassis Number #05070 the 1972 Dino GT a beautiful example we have had the pleasure of selling twice before.
Chassis No 05070 was delivered new originally in the striking colour of Rosso Rubino Metallizzato 106-R-83 with Rosso Leather VM3171 interior. It was also specified with the factory fitted options of full leather interior and electric windows. The car was later changed to Rosso Corsa with Nero Leather. This is the later and more desirable E series car that was delivered new by Maranello Concessionaires in November 1972.
The car underwent a complete restoration between 1987/1989 by Moto Technique and Racing Heritage with all invoices for the work carried out present.
We first had the pleasure of buying this car in February 2008 from a long-standing local client and collector and immediately sold the car to the next custodian who kept it up until September 2012 when we purchased the car back. At this point we sent the car for a full re-paint at renowned bodyshop Stallion Motor Body Specialists in Nottingham and they attended to any imperfections and the car was presented in an ‘as new’ condition.
We sold the car later in 2012 to the last owner where it has remained for the last 10 years and has been used regularly and maintained by various renowned Ferrari specialists regardless of cost.
A total matching numbers example that comes complete with 2 very impressive and extensively documented history files, detailing letters to and from the first owner when ordering the car with Maranello Concessionaires and subsequent order forms and original invoices. In addition all Invoices for any work carried out on the car over the years and MOTs are all present including correspondence dating back to 1972, which is incredibly rare to find on these cars today.
It also comes complete with its original leather wallet, operating maintenance and service handbook, dealership directory, original Dino GT brochure, tool kit and jack.
Today the car presents incredibly well and is ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
